St. Johns Lutheran Church of the Unaltered Augsburg Confession - Rich Valley
Saint Johns Lutheran Church was founded in 1911 as a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. The people of St. Johns have been served by God through the ministry of Word and Sacrament at the same Rich Valley location ever since. The present building was constructed in 1977 and the original church was moved a half mile east at that time.

St. Johns began as a confessional Lutheran Church, and it remains committed to the Scriptures and the Lutheran confessions in its doctrinal stance. Its policies and practices are those agreed upon within the Lutheran Church - Missouri synod. Our worship is liturgical, traditional, historical Lutheran worship. Our hymnal is Lutheran Worship published by Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis.
The Sacrament of the Altar is celebrated on the first through fourth Sundays of each month. The members of St. Johns and those visitors who, by their choice of Church membership, have publicly declared their beliefs to be those of St. Johns, are encouraged to receive the Sacrament each time it is offered.
The Catechism program at St. Johns is a three year program, 6th -8th grades. The 6 chief parts of Christian Doctrine, as expressed in Luthers Small Catechism, are memorized each year. The main text for the first year is a study of the Reformation. Second year the Bible is the textbook for a study of how God worked out his plan for the salvation of mankind in human history. The third year focuses on Christian doctrine, worship, and life, in a study of Luthers Small Catechism. Our Catechism students are supplied with a copy of Concordia, The Ltheran Confessions: A Readers Edition of the Book of concord.
